Sleep like an angel.

Thank you for scheduling your newborn portrait session! I’m excited to meet you and your new arrival soon. We will have a great time and capture images you’ll treasure forever. Prior to your session, please provide me with pictures of any or all of the following:

• Baby’s nursery including bedding and walls. If no nursery, provide me with 2-3 colors you’d like me to use in the session.
• A link to the crib bedding you bought (or will buy) or made for baby.

What To Expect

• A Newborn Portrait Session typically lasts approx. 2 hours. It’s a stress-free environment and experience!
• Your baby will dictate how the session goes so being flexible will help reduce stress a new parent may feel.

• Extra diapers, spit up blankets, etc.
• Extra formula or breast milk if your baby uses a bottle.
• A pacifier if your baby uses one.

• A well fed baby is a happy baby so feed baby within 1/2 hour of coming to the studio. If you need to feed your baby upon arrival or during the session, we will take the time for you to do so.  If coming from Mammoth Lakes (or other distant town/city, please allow extra time for the unexpected.

• It will be helpful to keep baby awake for 1-2 hours prior to coming to the studio. While this can be challenging, it shouldn’t be stressful. However, keeping baby awake before the session increases the chances of your baby sleeping for most of the session. Unwrap baby, bathe baby, etc.

• If your baby likes a bath, bathing baby before the session can wake him/her up.

• Gently wipe baby’s eyes to clean.

• For nursing moms, a bland diet starting 48 hours prior to the session can be helpful. Try to avoid spicy foods during this time.

• Before leaving home to come to studio, loosen diaper a little bit so red marks around legs and tummy are minimized.

• If you have other children, please make arrangements for their care during the newborn session.

• If you plan to have your baby circumcised, please make sure to postpone the procedure until after your baby’s newborn session.

• If you choose to add on family or sibling pictures, we will do those at the end of the session, after we’ve captured all of the important shots of your new baby. It’s helpful to have pre-arranged care for your older children then they can be brought to the studio toward the end of the session.

• If parents/siblings will be in pictures, bring WRINKLE FREE clothing on hangers. You’ll be able to change comfortably in the studio.

• Refer to the Price and Product Guide for additional fee.

• Laurie Warta Photography is a print based studio which means the products you select will be ready to be enjoyed in print format, not to be lost in the digital age era.
